The French insurance company for foreign trade (COFACE), has maintained the A4 rating for the country risk evaluation for Algeria, in the moment when business environment ranked B and the risk of the middle-term ratings is « quite low. »
According to the Coface forecasts, GDP growth of Algeria in 2014 will be 3.6% against 3.1% in 2013.
The annual average inflation is estimated at 5.0% in 2013 and 4.5% in 2014, noted that the French company during the presentation on Tuesday in the French capital of its note on economy as part of its 18th colloquium.
The budgetary balance/GDP is estimated at -2.2% in 2013 and -1.5% in 2014, the current balance /GDP is 3.0% in 2013 and will be 1.2% in 2014, while the public debt is 13.0% in 2013 and will 14.5% in 2014.
Noting the strengths of the national economy, Coface, pointed out the « important » reserves of oil and gas, a potential in the fields of renewable energy and tourism, a « strong » external financial situation with a « very low » external debt and « huge » foreign exchange reserves and a public policy directed to economic diversification.
